A restaurant to rival Swaben in Dundas, ON
Food is good, hearty and plentiful - all we expect in a German restaurant. Menu is much the same as Swaben, a longtime fixture in Dundas,ON(now a victim of Hamilton amalgamation). It's hard to leave room for dessert with such massive servings. I'd hoped to savour their Linzertorte, one of my faves. Spaelze served is the noodle-like version not the fragment-version. I don't think the spaelze was house-prepared but it was still tasty. Service was adequate, not outstanding. One small room with a sit-down bar facing one wall. Cozy with a gas fireplace but when the room is full, it's not cozy but noisy. Try a weekday dinner as it might be quieter, acoustically-speaking.

MONEYS WORTH AND MORE
HAVE BEEN TO ZUM LINZER'S SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THE GOOD FOOD AND THE PRICES. HAVE TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT MENU ITEMS AND ENJOYED THEM ALL. LAST TIME THERE I ORDERED THE VEAL LIVER AND IT WAS EXCELLENT AND THERE WAS PLENTY OF IT FOR ME, LEFT SOME ON MY PLATE WHICH IS UNUSUAL FOR ME. WILL BE GOING AGAIN ON NOVEMBER 4TH AND KNOW IT WILL BE JUST AS FINE AS ANY OTHER TIME I'VE BEEN THERE. ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THIS SMALL RESTAURANT DOES NOT HAVE A SEPARATE NON-SMOKING ROOM. SMOKE FROM THE BAR DRIFTS OVER THE ROOM IF THERE ARE SEVERL PEOPLE AT THE BAR.
