AlwayZ on Top of their Zushi
The sushi is always fresh, tasty, and arranged by a master chef. You can't eat just one roll. . . and the drinks are fantastic too. Ask Har to make you the Espresso Martini.
Recommended: Toro Sashimi, Yellowtail with Jalapeno Tempura Roll, the SAKE sampler.

Our company had our holiday party there and everything was fantastic. The food was yummy and everyone had a wonderful time. The staff was very helpful and nice and the martinis were to die for.

Great place for sushi and drinks!!
Z Sushi is one of the best sushi bars east of downtown LA. The food is delicious! I've tried almost every item on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Prices are fair and portions are big. I had a large birthday party at Z, and the staff was incredible! This is a great find and I'd definitely recommend it to all of my friends.

Z Best in Alhambra ...
Food - The sushi specials were delicious along with the kitchen entrees. I definitely recommend Yellowtail Collar. The presentation was beautiful and everything arrived fresh and hot. The kitchen portions were HUGE! Service - Our servers were friendly and helpful. It was my first time but it seemed like a lot of people go there as regulars since the servers greeted a lot of its customers by first name. Ambiance - Z Sushi has an "A" Rating and was extremely clean. There are beautiful wood panels all around and the paintings were unique as well. Z seems to incorporate all different types of patrons. There were families, couples, and large groups of friends who went since they can accommodate. Other - Compared to other restaurants, Z Sushi was definitely one of the cheapest. However, the food, service, and atmosphere are definitely one of the best. I have been back every week since I found this restaurant and I would definitely recommend it to all my friends. They even offered parties and set menus for 50 people, and delivery and catering. I am NOT connected with the restaurant in any way and only discovered the place a few weeks ago ... I just like to share good places to go eat!

GREAT FOOD! WONDERFUL SERVICE! REASONABLE PRICES!
I went with my friends on a Friday night when they were extremely busy and there was a line, but I was greeted with wonderful service, great food and I found the prices to be extremely reasonable. Actually, I thought the prices were pretty cheap considering the atmosphere, and the portion of the food. The service was great and the atmosphere had a wonderful feel. (Their music selection was a highlight as well.) My friends and I found the servers, sushi chefs and even customers in good spirits which made our dining experience a good one. The food was exceptional. The presentation was fantastic and the sushi was extremely fresh. I definitely recommend their BBQ Beef and Chilean Sea Bass. Their seared tuna and toro were also extremely fresh. (Try the Z Special!) One of my friends was a vegetarian and they were extremely accomodating. The even made vegetarian items that were not on the menu. They also had a full bar and their martinis were delicious. (Even the glasses were chilled!) Overall, I thought Z Sushi was a great find and I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends.

Don't even bother going!
My husband and I decided to try out Z Sushi, which is down the street from my house. We figured, it's right where South Pasadena and Alhambra meet, so it must be half decent. We entered the restaurant, where the waiters were bustling and nobody tended to us for a few minutes. We finally got seated about 15 minutes later, and looked over the menu. The prices are a little bit high, but I guess they're a "high end" sushi joint. We ordered Miso soup, Tofu Salad, Soft Crab appetizers, Sushi and an Udon noodle soup. It took us another 10 minutes to put in our order. We received the miso soup 20 minutes later. Then, another 20 minutes later, we received the Tofu salad (which hardly requires a 40 minute preparation). We then received 2 of our 4 sushi orders another 15 minutes later. We received a tuna sushi roll, and crappy crab roll. The rice was overcooked and fell off the side, and the tuna was not cut nicely. None of the rolls were the same size and there was too much seaweed wrapped around it. It had been an hour and we were terribly dissatisfied with the food and service. Our ice teas had not been refilled at all and a waiter even mistakenly thought that we had already finished our meal. I asked the waiter to please cancel any dishes they had not started cooking. Needless to say, they hadn't started cooking anything else - so we paid the bill and left. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anybody! This is the worst restaurant that I've ever been to. The food is slow - and the food is NOT GOOD! I've been to many restaurants, and this one rates a "zero" on my list!
