Sorry, Not Too Impressed
I had a similar experience like Mofo. The owner(?) was rude to a waitress but of course veeeery nice to me (slime). The waitresses looked all very stressed and under pressure though the one who served me was maintaining a professional and friendly attitude. I had the feeling they don't enjoy working for this guy. (I wouldn't.) The restaurant itself is actually very nice. Water view, large room and it looks a little bit like 2 or 3 notches above a regular diner. But the food that I had did not quite live up to that. But that might have been just the Fisherman Platter that I picked. Everything was fried and tossed on one big plate. The sauces came in plastic dips just like at Kelly's Roast Beef. The hot rolls they serve as a pre-appetizer are awsome. I think it's OK if you look for something at the lower end of the scale. It's a diner with dress code for the waiters/waitresses.

I have been going to the Wharf for several years. The last few times it has NOT been an enjoyable experience. The owner and his family take over a small section of the restaurant and let thier children run amok up and down the aisles...crying, yelling, screaming like it's their very own playground. Not only had I lost my concentration with my company, I lost my appetite for good with them. This is usaully a Saturday night (date/couple night) that the fracas begins. Also, this same evening the owner was rude to a worker 5 feet from our table (we since moved from the rugrats). They also have people setting up tables for the next day - working around the paying customers? I think not!

Loved It
Excellent. My husband and I went once, and quickly returned. The first time we both got the lobster pie. The second, I got the lobster casserole (creamy and delicious) and he the extraordinary prime rib. The popovers were an added delight!
