Casual and Good
Don't be confused...Uncle Darrow's is not a sit down and get served type of restaurant. When you walk in, you stand in line ot order, just like any fast food joint. However, the food is so much better than you will ever expect based on your first impression when you walk in the door. If you do not know what everything on the menu is, the staff will give you samples and let you try it all. The jumbalaya and red beans & rice are awesome. On weekends, they add a seafood gumbo with shrimp and blue crab that is unbelievable. They operate a mammal-free kitchen, so all of their sausages are made with chicken or turkey, rather than pork or beef. If you are in the mood for quick, easy, and casual southern cooking, this is the place.

The Gumbo is truly a religious experience. They have never been anything but wonderful, gracious, friendly, helpful hosts all the times I have visited. Breakfast is something not to be missed, but the biscuits are so bad (for you!) they make up for the reasonably healthy slant to the chicken and turkey sausages. But boy are those biscuits good. Oh. So. Good.
