Don't Bother Going to Tosca in Mississauga.
Went to the restaurant this weekend and the risotto was overcooked while the pizza tasted like it came out of box. Very pricy and no value for the money charged.

Authentic Italian in Canada
Our visit on October 26, 2004 to the dining room was so delightful that we followed up on the 27th with a return. Tosaca offered us authentic Italian Cuisine with attentive service without being annoying. The market-fresh ingredients were carefully presented in delicate sauces which only highlighted the main selections. The Insalata Italiana features tender tuna, abundant fresh greens and veggies, plus the best salami I have tasted in Canada. This delight was only surpassed by the main course of Saltimbocca alla Romana - wafer-thin veal scallops with prosciutto, sage in a light white wine sauce. Most impressive were the vegetables; often and afterthought as a side dish in many restaurants; the vegetables were crisp, well-seasoned and as inviting as the veal. Tosca is now a favorite and will be highly recommended to any family or friends seeking authentic Italian.

Don't Overlook This Great Restaurant!
Although I'm not one for making online submissions or forcing my opinions on anyone, I am shocked and disappointed that there's not already a review of Tosca. My wife-to-be and I stumbled onto after we moved into the neighbourhood in May of 2002 and it quickly became central to our lives. While we no longer live in Mississauga we drove back on Christmas Eve to eat at Tosca. I hope we will every year. The food is uniformly great. I don't know anything about cooking but I know eating and this stuff melts in the mouth. Try the gnocchi, whatever else you do. They have a great pasta sampler. Service was perfect: the waiter and manager are always around but never intrude. It's also fairly easy to get a reservation, which is nice for people who like nice stuff but hate planning ahead, like us. Tosca is a unique sort of restaurant. Because it's located in a strip mall between a bank and a Kelcey's, I doubt it gets the attention it deserves. Looking at my Visa statement, I see that (after buying everything we wanted, washing it down with great wine, and tipping generously) we got in and out for $95.00. We always leave satisfied... and smiling.
