Don't Miss It
I have eaten seafood, especially fried, in numerous restaurants in the area and none compare to the Clam Box. The batter used on the fried foods is excellent, the seafood always fresh and delicious. In season the line is very long unless you manage to arrive mid-afternoon. In off season and when they are not too busy, you can call in your order and avoid the line. There are tables inside as well as some picnic tables outside.

Very Overpriced
Good clams but have had just as good clams in other Gloucester restaurants. Lines too long. Service too slow. Price exorbitant.

Well Worth the Drive
The native fried clams were great. I was waiting for company to visit me in NH before I tried the Clam Box in Ipswich. The place looks like a fast food joint, but the taste is out of this world. My buddies from Maryland, Delaware, and Indiana loved it. In fair play, the onion rings were plain and I would not order them again. The service was on par.
