On Sept 23, 2006 the food was terrific and the ambiance and service exceptional. The oysters were acoompanied by a gewurtztraminer sorbet that was the perfect tart compliment, similar to but more refreshing than a mignonette sauce. The ahi appetizer with cardamom sorbet and crenshaaw melon was original, light and fresh. The fois gras appetizer with figs was agreeably full and rich but complemented by a light garnish of watercress. Our entrees of venison and duck breast were superior and equal to the best available on the City side of the bay. Interesting wine list from US and Europe, especially an Austrian white (Hobler) that reminded us a little of muscadet and went beautifully with the oysters. Great cheese selection (cow, goat and sheep) and a pleasing spciy fig dessert. Great find!

Very Romantic
This restaurant has changed hands a number of times. The food is good, some main courses are excellent. It would be nice if the restaurant returned to making Baked Alaska the traditional way, flaming at the table and once again served Hawaiian bread. A great place for a truly romantic evening.

HIGHLY recommend.. .fabulous food - great ambiance
This restaurant will please the most serious of foodies. The view is unsurpassable--right on San Francisco Bay, and every table has a view whose jewel is the Golden Gate Bridge. The service is top-rate; diners are treated well whether tourist or very formally attired. Service is prompt and attentive. The meal doesn't disappoint -- good selection and done to perfection.
