Restaurant - Mexican

Taqueria Los Charros is a quaint and casual restaurant serving Mexican food (specialty: soft tacos with carne asada topped with chopped cilantro and lime juice). Located on Dana St., just off Castro St. in downtown Mountain View, it is conveniently situated next to a public parking lot and among bookstores, coffee shops, and other businesses for leisure window shopping. The atmosphere is casual. In addition to its diverse menu, it serves traditional Mexican/Hispanic beverages like tamarindo and horchata, and beer.

Best huevos ranchos around
The food at Taqueria Los Charros is the best in the area! Their refried beans are delicous...muy sabrosos! You can tell it is good by the fact that it is busy, but you can always take a seat at the counter! Their Huevos Ranchos on a Sunday morning...nothing is better!

Authentic and Enjoyable
The flavor of the tacos just reminds me of home... in Costa Rica. Sure, it's not Mexico, but many of the foods among Hispanic cultures overlap and differ slightly in spice/condiment/ingredient. The smell of fresh corn tortillas, the mix of grilled meat, cilantro, and lime, and the traditional beverages like horchata and tamarindo bring back memories of home-cooked meals growing up in Costa Rica. I haven't found these scents in any other restaurant. The pricing and menu are "authentic" too. Prices are based on the a la carte item you order, although they also serve complete entrees too. My suggestion is not to order the entree but individual items so you can try a variety of goodies.
