Hi,
I have been going to the Swiss Chalet since I was a child. I am a mother of two grown men now and 3 grandchildren. I have always loved the chicken dinner and that's all I have ever ordered. Swiss Chalet had something special with that dinner, the chicken tasted like no other I have ever had, the fries and gravy were great, and they used to serve a toasted roll with it. Due to the fact that I went so crazy over the gravy, I used to order 3 and dunked everything in it, including the roll. Well, the roll became a round roll, not toasted and although I was disappointed, I didn't care so much because everything else was so great. The last two times I went though were very disappointing. The gravy has changed and that makes such a difference. I mentioned it twice to two different waitresses and they had two different explanations. One said the cook must have not made it right. They other which was just yesterday, Sunday, October 22 said people have mentioned it but they were told that it is the same recipe. Well, I wasn't the only one who thought it was not the same, my husband did also. Now, the gravy is just ok, no better and no worse than any other. Although I have had canned gravy that was tastier. I am sorry but if you do anything different with the chicken, I would have to say that I would probably never come back. Half of the reason I thought the dinner was great was the gravy. I would normally never go to any other place for chicken. I hate to complain but I am hoping that just "maybe" someone might pay attention and reinstate the old recipe. That would make a lot of people happy I am sure.

The restaurant we went to was on Niagara Falls Blvd in Amherst, NY. The waitress was great even though I complained about the gravy. She agreed with me and said other people have complained also. I ordered the half chicken dinner with the chalet sauce (gravy) My husband ordered the chicken fingers with the French fries and gravy.

Really good food especially the chicken
I love it their when you bite into their savouring dishes all your troubles are forgotten.

Great Food
I go here all the time! I recommend the perogies, the quarter chicken, the chicken on a kaiser and the Caesar salad. The ribs are also wonderful. The flavor is intense and delicious and the portions are more than adequate. The food is always hot and the service is friendly! Offers a homey atmosphere, great for families. Has a great kid's menu and they sing to you at your birthday.
