Best sushi in San Mateo
San Mateo offers more Japanese restaurants per square mile than any other town on the Peninsula. When I moved there, I took it as a challenge to try them all. After trying 5 others, I found Sushi Sam's and decided there was no point trying the others. Sam's quality is comparable to Osho in Millbrea, but less expensive and with a very casual atmosphere. In fact, their dining room has no style at all, but hey, they got the sushi.

Too Good!
The food is some of the best you will ever taste and the service is just as good. Reservations are extremely helpful or else be prepared for a little wait.

The only bad thing about Sushi Sam's is that it will ruin you for sushi elsewhere.
