the food at sushi ko is generally very tasty, but, everything else is terrible, especially the service. i have eaten there many times and if it is busy forget about getting your food without waiting for at least 30 minutes and then there's only a sliver of hope that you'll get what you actually ordered, it will probably be cold and/or made incorrectly. complaining is useless because the owners/managers are in the restaurant but refuse to interact with the guests, even when there is a problem/complaint. if your meal was horrible, they will offer to replace what you didnt like or had a problem with. forget about getting anything taken off the bill. if your meal was a complete disaster you'll be lucky if you get a free desert as compensation. the restaurant looks very nice, but look closer: everything is filthy or sticky. the tables are seldom cleaned between parties and the floor is an accumulation of everything that has fallen on it since the restaurant opened earlier in the day. i can only imagine what the kitchen is like... the chefs at the sushi bar have no personality and are generally rude and unnaccomadating. the owner can frequently be heard yelling at or harrassing the employees for ridiculous things. the only thing the restaurant has going for it is good food (when it gets made correctly) and the occasional friendly server. Overall you'll probably leave frustrated and in a worse mood than when you came. i have eaten there many times with friends or at parties and out of about 15 meals, about 3 were worth the hassle. whoever owns that restaurant has a lot to learn about how to run a business... and i dont think he has ever heard about the food industries golden rule: "the customer is always right"

We ate at Sushi Ko at The Lakes in Thousand Oaks this past weekend. The food there is fab!!! I've never tasted such delicious grilled skewers. I loved the Chilean Sea Bass and the NY Steak kabob. My kids loved the children's meal. My daughter (age 6) ate every bite of her salmon teriyaki meal, even the mashed pumpkin they serve with the meal. my husband and I both had sake cocktails and they were good. We sat outside on their patio and enjoyed the view of the lakes and the children's playground. After my kids finished eating, they went to play at the playground and we had another sake cocktail. Needless to say the rest of our Sunday was wonderful...

I agree the food was good if you can ignore the fact that everything was cold. Our server said the ched forgot to cook some of our food and that resulted in the kids finishng their cold food before we got ours. They also ran out of the filet mignon and it took them 20 minutes to tell us that. We had a 2 hour dinner and left hungry. Needless to say , we will not be returning. We also never received an apology for any of our bad service.

I ate at Sushi Ko in Thousand Oaks last week with my co-workers and we loved it! The service was good and the server was sweet and helpful. I love the grilled skewers they serve there. The Filet Mignon is delicious. I also love their special rolls, especially the Sushi Ko Crunch! They have these very reasonable lunch specials that allow you to try an assortment of their grilled skewers. I also noticed they have children's meals so I will return with my two under 10 year old girls and have a nice dinner with them. Can't wait to have another cold sake sampler. I really like the unfiltered sake they call
crazy milk.

The food was excellent, but the service was awful. It took about 10 minutes to get seated when the seats were clearly available. Then, oddly, menus weren't provided so I had to request them for our party. Our appetizer arrived 20 minutes after everything else. The miso soup I ordered never arrived. We also had about 3 different servers and they all seemed quite confused. I will not go back to Sushi Ko!
