Food and menu choices are dodgy. Stay away from half cooked fish and greasy chips. Seafood chowder is good when they have it. Atmosphere is nice but food doesn't justify prices.

The first time my friend and I went to Standord's it was only because other places around it were too busy for us to get a parking place... but WOW! We have gone back! The decor and service is excellent! And the bar is in a totally separate section so you don't get the cigarette smoke, etc., floating in while you eat. There is a nice outdoor eating area for sunny weather... very nice booths or tables. The meat is cooked over an open wood fire, with great seasonings and spices. One "hint" -- with your meal only things like cole slaw or cinnamon apples are listed... BUT you CAN get the daily vegetable instead... ours was fresh asparagus! Yum! The herbed chicken is awesome, and portions are quite large. However, you have to pay "extra" for a salad or bread. In my opinion this is just a bit "tacky" especially as you do pay a price for the meal which should include this. (Prices are not bad, however, for such a good restaurant.) Service has ALWAYS been wonderful; waiters and waitresses very friendly and helpful... and available! We love it!!
