Romolo's Factory is a cute red and white ice cream parlor off the beaten path in San Mateo. You walk in and old italian music is playing and a little Nonna greats to see what you want. I wanted the cannoli, ricotta with a chocolate dipped shell (my favorite). I ordered three actually. One for now, one for a friend, and one for later. The chocolate ones keep crunchy longer than traditional ones. The nice lady fills them, sprinkles powder sugar on top and puts red and green cherries on the ends. They are beautiful, but taste even better! I would recommend Romolo's for anybody who wants something special to put a smile on your face, or you can get cannolis un-filled and fill them at home to impress friends and family. its fun too. ciao
