Superb Dining
My wife and I wanted to celebrate a 38th anniversary and chose Pellinos. We could not have done better. The food was superb, the service was wonderful and the staff was friendly and very good. When we identified our "occasion" we got a "gift" from the owner. I can and will recommend this restaurant to everybody.

Having read many favourable reviews about Pellino's, I was looking forward to a fine experience in this restaurant for the occasion of my boyfriend's birthday last weekend. Since I live in London and was flying over to surprise him with a special night out, I contacted Pellino's several weeks ago by email and received responses from them confirmimg my reservation. However, on the night of our booking, we were held up on the road and running late for our 9pm reservation. I called from the car, explaining that I would be there around 9:30. We arrived at 9:38pm, only to find the door locked and nobody in sight. Upon knocking, a waiter opened the door and told us the restaurant was closed (despite a posted notice that it closed at 10:30pm). I explained it was a special occasion and he, begrudgingly, said we could come inside if we wanted, and was very unwelcoming to us. At this point, we were both totally disheartened by the attitude and lack of respect we were given and left the restaurant. My boyfriend is a local businessman who has lived in Marblehead for many years and frequented Pellino's often with friends and business associates. This experience has left us with such a bitter feeling about a restaurant who does not live up to its promises, and is inhospitable to its patrons, that we will not be returning.
