Restaurant - Sushi, Thai

-- Best Thai 2006 Nominee

Natalee Thai prides itself in being an "authentic" Thai restaurant, yet they do a great job in describing their dishes and in naming them so that they're friendly and approachable for their American guests. (example: the classic appetizer Kra-thong-tong is described as "Not easy to say, but easy to eat. Thailand's answer to a taco filled with chicken, corn, onion, carrots and peas." Takes the fear out of trying it if it's unfamiliar and makes the menu a fun read.) At this location, Natalee Thai breaks with convention showcases a sushi bar and serves up designer cocktails, wine, beer and sake in their full bar. Dishes are served family style and cover the spectrum of Thai classics -- rice, noodles, curry, soups, salads and entrees for meat, fish and vegetable lovers. Hot and spicy dishes are clearly marked and can be kicked up to your heat tolerance. The exterior is unmistakable -- part airline hanger, part Airstream diner -- look for the curvy tin roof line at the intersection of Venice and Clarington next to the enormous parking lot of Smart & Final (where, by the way, you can park despite the ominous no-parking signs...)

natalee thai in culver city suck!!
order 5 dishes and we tought 4 people could eat. Its been a while since i order take out from there, but now i remember why! the portions are so small it could only feed a couple of people we have to order from somewhere else after we left and the food wasn't that good .i've been in many thai places and almost everywhere they give you enough for what you paid or i order seafood and it was mostly onions and less than 2 oz of seafood i don't recommend this place to anybody they should be shame of themselves robbering people and giving such small portions!!

Pineapple fried rice is great. A good menu selection, though their lunch specials are a bit on the skimpy side. Less than $10 a person on average. Pad Thai is good too, though again the portions are a bit smaller than I'm used to at other Thai restaurants. It's quality vs quantity here. Never tried their sushi bar, but heard some decent reviews on it.

Great for sharing!
If you're struggling for a place to go in Culver City, Natalee Thai is fun and flavorful. Whether you've got picky dieters or indulgent foodies who love to try everything, there's something for everyone here -- which makes it fun all around. Who knew that cosmopolitans and Thai food were so well-paired. The crowd is cool, casual and relaxed. And the food comes out fresh and fast.
