My Mother in law and her sister (Visiting from California) and myself decided to go to Mizu on a Friday night for dinner. When you first walk in it looks fun and inviting. You see all the people seating around the built in stoves at there tables and the cheifs are doing all kinds of cool tricks with the food. It didn't take them long to seat us. As we were sitting and waiting for other people to join our table (I think the tables seat 8 people) my mother in law's sister (we will call her Cathy) noticed her plate was dirty with food on it. So, I take a look at my plate and notice the same thing my mother in law (we will call her Carol) took a look at her plate and it was dirty too. We started laughing. Saying "No, they didn't give us dirty plates" this got the attention of the other people at our table so they started looking at their plates and started laughing becasue their plates were dirty too. Everyone started cleaning their plates with napkins. But Cathy wanted a new plate so as a young waiter walked by she asked him for a new plate. He took her plate and walked to the back of the room where there was some other plates piled on the counter. She was watching him. He picked up a rag off the counter and simple wiped her plate off (God only knows where that rag had been) and walked back to our table. Before he reached us Cathy looks at me and says "He just cleaned my same plate off with a dirty rag". The waiter gives her her plate back and she tells him "This is my same plate I just saw you clean it with a rag" the waiter gave her the deer in the headlights look. Then he says its a new plate. He hands it to her and walks off. She takes the plate and wipes it with her napkin. Shes a little shocked at what just took place and asks me "What kind of a place is this?". I shrugged my shoulders and tell her I've never been here before.The menu is way over priced and you don't really get that much food for the money. Everything they serve you has the same flavor. I will never go back again.

Terrible service
The worst dining experience we've EVER had--period. The rudest chef and servers. They had us waiting for almost half an hour before the chef finally emerged with an attitude because we asked the server how long it would take before our food was prepared. We were hungry. She explained that it would take another 20 minutes to prepare. Asking your patrons to wait an hour before their food is served is ridiculous. We will never go back. I'd encourage people to choose from the many other quality Japanese restaurants in the area who will treat paying customers the way they deserve to be treated.

I love this place!
One of the best places for SUSHI and Japanese steak in Seattle. The food is wonderful, the staff is equally as attractive, and so is the atmosphere. Try it out.

This place is a rare find. Who would have expected to find a delicious Japanese steak house and sushi bar next to a Target store? The show put on by the steak chefs is fun. Seating is eight around a grill, so groups larger than that or smaller than that might share a table, but it does not feel intrusive since the chef is the center of attention. The food is good, and the experienced chefs are entertaining. So far in the four times I have sat on the steak side, I have had chefs with no less than 15 years of experience doing this! The sushi side is equally delectable. You can sit at tables, on the sushi side, or right up at the bar, and watch the friendly sushi chef make your food. Tip: Ask him to make you one of his specials not on the menu! They are wonderful, and he likes showing off. You can also get sushi as an appetizer if you are sitting on the steak side.
