Just Okay
Max's is very expernsive. During peak times you can expect a wait. The service is spotty. Like most place it depends on which server you get. Personally I think the space is a bit odd. A long narrow room that seems to be pretty loud. It also has a bar area that is right at the front door and not very appealing to sit and relax. The food here seems a lot more about quanity and not quality.

This place is really great for those of you with kids and like great food. The desserts are everything they say they are and the kids get a great ice cream bar with all the toppings.

Great food; expensive prices; spotty service and quality.
I eat at the San Ramon Max's fairly often. Most of the food is excellent when prepared correctly. Lately, I've had a couple of experiences with very poor service and food quality. Considering how expensive Max's is, I expect the best all around. By the way, Max's desserts are *huge*, *expensive*, and look much better than they actually taste, in my opinion.
