Excellent Japanese cuisine
I found this wonderful restaurant on Google looking for Japanese cuisine in Pleasant Hill. The sashimi combination is very fresh, with a tasty assortment of five seafood offerings pleasing presented with sliced red cabbage and shaved radish. The miso soup is tangy with crunchy tofu. The saba shioyaki (broiled mackerel) is a generous portion of fresh tender fish. The prices were very reasonable and the serving portions filling. The staff is friendly, courteous, efficient and Japanese! (Almost all the Japanese restaurants in Walnut Creek have Chinese staff). My wife and I have been eating Japanese cuisine for over 35 years. We highly recommend Matsu Sushi.

I have never eaten in, but have taken out multiple times and have never been disappointed. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I would (and have) recommend them.

Best Sushi I've ever had
This is almost that hidden diamond resturant. I never liked sushi before I ate at this place. Now I can't get enough, I even have my whole crew of co-workers ordering take out every Friday. The dining is a wonderful experience. Small friendly staff take care of everything you need.
Recommended: I recommend the CA Roll and my favorite is the Godzilla Roll.
