| Let's do lunch?I enjoy dining out and even more so with great company, but as a student I can't afford to do it. If you'd like some company, let me know when and where to meet you

Little Tokyo downtown has cheap Japanese food (not really sushi though) (can eat for less than $5)
Thai Dishes has the best thai food and is very inexpensive ($6 for two)
Most italian is inexpensive ($10 max) same for mexican

I haven't had a good experience with Cafe Bizou :( The atmosphere was off (usually some unrestrained child wandering around and crying), the food is cold and bland and its a little over priced...
Casa del Mar is a great place for high tea or drinks, esp. at sunset
Wilshire, on the patio at night, is my personal favorite
Typhoon is for that adventureous person - scenery is a small airport - so watch planes instead of yachts - and you can get bugs ;)
There are so many great places to eat in LA :)

My favorites: - salmon, but it has to be super fresh and just the right texture and cut - eel (one of the few that is served warm, looks gross but very yummy) - baby octupus (which is served whole and is not chewy, but that may be an acquired taste) I also like the 'special' rolls... the presentation is usually very nice
I do not like: - squid or octopus, too chewy and no flavor - yellowtail, etc
