This is the place I want to return to.
I lived in Hayward in '81 and '82. Super chicken burrito and XX was luxury for a student. I am glad it is there. I want to have that super burrito again.

Why Don't More People Go Here?
Answer: they're too hung up on chain places with all the fluff and none of the flavor. I started going to La Imperial a year ago and for REAL food served by REAL people there is no other place that compares. Affordable, great food served by a nice and friendly family. What else do you want?

Super shredded beef burrito is the best!
Four bucks for a burrito that is served on a platter, it's too big to fit on a plate. The best and BIGGEST beef burritos I have ever eaten. The shredded beef, tastes like it has been simmering all day, and is so flavorful. Not the classiest looking place to eat, but it's all about the food. You can pay more at the classy looking Mexican restaurants, but this place puts all its effort into the food.

A Favorite!
La Imperial is the type of place you'd never stroll into-someone has to TAKE you there. Then you know. Family run, wonderful, down home atmosphere, and good food. From the outside, one might think "Gee, what a dive!" but once you've experienced the place, you'll very likely return. Always enjoyable.
