I got so sick i threw up for a week. When i went to make a complaint they were too rude and busy to care. The service bad. The food- even worse. The prices- too much for a small dirty dish... WAY OVERPRICED for nothing. i will never goback again!

We ate here on Saturday and will NEVER, EVER go back! On Sunday - 3 out of 5 of us were throwing up profusely. We had eated something contaminated with bacteria or a virus. It was the albacore because the other 2 did not eat the albacore. We are 2 families in 2 seperate homes so this was definately from the food. So we call the restaurant on Sunday and explain we'd appreciate a credit on our card due to this turnout. The manager says "Bring me the hospital bill and I might credit the food, I have to go now." Forget about that for a minute. He didn't even ask what we had eaten so he can prevent other customers from being contaminated on Sunday!!!! We used to eat her all the time but this new manager started recently and has been extremely rude on several occasions before this incident. The quality of service has gone down tremendously. After many, many years of going to Kushiyu, we watched this place go down the drain. There are many establishments in the San Fernando Valley now with much better sushi so it is pointless to go here anymore. So I sit here, wondering when my next bout of vomiting will be while another family is probably doing the same when it could have been thoroughly avoided had this manager cared. If you still decide to go there, and see a tall asian man with spiky hair - you will see the rudeness I am referring to. I hope this saves somebody some money, anger and possibly sickness by deferring them to another sushi place with better food, service and care.

They have the best sushi. We to there twice a week. Once just me and my husband with friends and every Sunday with our kids. They love it. Not only the food is excellent and fresh also the staff is very friendly. If you havent' tried it yet you don't know whats your missing.

Kushiyu is THE best place for sushi ever!! I've been going there for about 7 years now, and it's always been the best! I've has sushi from so many other places and nothing can compare to Kushiyu! Do yourself a favor... go to this restaurant... you definitely won't regret it! (I suggest a crab roll w/ only crab meat mashed up and grilled swordfish!!!)

Love the food here. Especially like the robata items and the spicy tuna on cracker. Like to sit at the bar. This is a friendly neighborhood place. Prices are reasonable. We recommend it.

Japanese Family Restaurant
Overall one of the few family friendly japanese restaurants around in the valley. The raw fish is acceptable. I have tasted better in the valley. The robata items are excellent. This is great place to take friends/family who you may want to introduce to a tamer, more universally acceptable, california style sushi restaurant.
Recommended: Salmon tower, spicy tuna on rice cakes, robata items

Freshest Sushi with a smile
I rush out of work to get there by 5:30 and always meet 3-4 friends who also love it. All the staff greet you with a smile and you'll always leave with a smile. The people at the sushi bar are always interesting and many times you'll find yourself sitting next to a celebrity. The best sushi in the Valley and moderately priced.
Recommended: spicy tuna on lettuce or rice cakes

I LOVE KUSHIYU
I have always hated sushi and I tried it 1,000 times and every time I just hated it. Finally I went with my friends to Kushiyu and I thought I would just order some chicken (which happens to be delicious) but then my frineds made me try their sushi and I fell in love. I'm addicted now. It is by far the best sushi in the city and I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else.

Mmmmmmmmm!
This is my FAVORITE sushi place in LA. Even before they remodeled and you had to wait at least 30 minutes outside to get a table, it was worth it. Now that they've expanded it's even better. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. My friends and I joke that if we knew we were going to die tomorrow, we would rush to Kushiyu to eat as much of the spicy salmon on a rice cake that we could! You have to place a special request for this dish -- it's not on the menu -- just write it in the sushi order or ask your server. It's divine!
