I have been going there since it opened. The family was friends of my inlaws. I think they are the best. The food is consistently good, never had bad service and will travel from wherever to get there.

Moved to Atlanta 3 yearscago. It is a deli wasteland.
Yesterday my daughter sent us a carepackage of Corned Beef, Pastrami, Rugula and Onion Rye Bread.
We are in heaven, Overnight FedEx worked great and this will now be a regular happening.

I close my eyes and see myself standing in the Bakery and salivating.
It mmay be long distance, but it is better then nothing.

Katella Deli has the worst service ever. The waitress we got was racist. We are Asian and the waitress was white. She treated us like we were not worth her time. They seated us right next to the waiters/waitress station and we heard her telling the other waitress that she didn't want to serve us. She literally tossed our settings on the table, one of the forks slid across the table almost hitting my 6-year old niece in the face. It got so bad with her that another waitress had to come in and take over our table. We complained to the manager and he did nothing. We will never ever eat there again. The restaurant is racist. You can't say it was only because of this one person because management took no action, as if the had no problem with her attitude toward us, so they condone it.

To the person who wrote WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SERVICE. I'm very glad to see that you will not be returning to KD. Your attitude towards the person with the "heavy accent" was so racial. I would not enjoy seeing the likes of you when I'm enjoying a meal there. Thanks for not coming back, more for us folk that enjoy KD's food and its employees.

The waitresses for my last 2 visits gave me a very bad impression. An older lady with a very poor disposition messed up the orders and was put out to get us refills of our drinks. The second lady working the counter brought our food cold and again messed up the order. I won't go back. There are too many choices for dining and I don't need to pay for poor service. Too bad because the food was good but poor service means poor management which will eventially reflect in the quality of the product.

We had been going to the Katella Deli for over 35 years....This last visit on July10,2006 was one of the worst....Your white fish was old and the 3 Rye breads we took home were hard and old....It molded in 3 days...Did the recipe change ?The service however was great and we were seated right away but your food is not what it used to be.....sorry.

Pastrami, cornbeef,pastrami, cornbeer? Couldn't decide so I got both!
The best ever! I use to be the first one to pick apart my food. Hated rye, hated corned beef. Well, use to hate it till I ate it. To me the only sandwich was a pastrami sandwich until I went to Katella Deli. Heavenly!!! Have them toast you rye, yes I said rye bread and treat your tongue to heaven on earth.

First Visit was OK.
I was asking around for a really good deli take out and was recommeded Katella Deli. I tried the corn beef and it was very dry (just alot of been between bread). However, the pastrami meat was very good, still alittle dry. I will go back and try their other menu item, maybe this time I'll ask for some mustard.

The Best In California
As far as I am concerned there is only one other place to get Kreplach Soup with chicken noodle soup base. Is its other establishment The South Street Deli. I come from Medford, Oregon to get it and can't wait to get there to partake in it and the corned beef sandwich. Of course they have great pastries and fresh breads too, made there on the premises. Yummy yummy... Question..Do they have a web site if so give me their address....PLEASE !

What a breath of fresh air
The menu is a whole lot of fun with multiple specialties better than mom ever made. I especially have enjoyed the wonderful breakfast menu, and the stew is certainly not to miss for a wonderful break from the normal restaurant meal.

The Best Sweet 'n' Sour Cabbage Soup.
Never been a fan of cabbage soup until I tasted Katella Deli's version. Absolutely fabulous. I do not eat beef, so I had to pick out big tender chunks, but to some that would be a plus. I had to try and replicate it at home, I had such a craving afterwards. With my friend's help, we did a decent job of duplication but NOT quite the same. Highly recommend

My Taste Buds Quiver with Anticipation.
This is my favorite of all, so for all 'special' times it is the place. Food is so outstanding I can recommend it to even my most critical friends. Servers are great too, going out of their way many times. Plan to visit with out of state friends to show off the way great deli food should taste. I think it should be cloned....

First Stop off the Plane
Whenever I get to town I run straight to K.D. and have matzo ball soup. They make the best chocolate chip danish, so I pick up a bunch to tied me over for days to come. The only drawback is that the wait staff is not very picky about their cleanliness in touching the food. Hopefully, our complaint did the job. I still go back over and over again.

Don't Do It.
We visit the Los Al area once a month and usally phone in once each visit. For the last three orders we have received the wrong orders, we have not received the complete order and the service at the take out counter is poor. Calling and talking to the manager is a total waste of time. On the good side if you eat at the deli service seems to be good.

I had a breakfast that satisfied me all day and then went to the bakery and got the apple danish...yummy with warmed up with some ice cream.
