After enjoying a wonderful brunch this past Sunday at Humphrey's for my mom's birthday, I was perturbed to find out that Humphrey's put through $209 authorization for a $44 bill; it overdrew my account and messed with my credit rating with my bank. Having worked in a restaurant I know it's necessary, what I don't understand is the amount. Why would such an extravagant amount be put through?

Today I spoke with a male day manager only to get a very blase, matter-of-fact response that it's a banking problem, specific to debit cards and there's really nothing they can do. I was also told by the receptionist and the same manager that they get 3 to 5 calls A DAY about this problem. Wouldn't it stand to reason that they would find a solution?

Why is this the only restaurant that I've ever been to that I've had this problem debit card or credit card?

Knowing that this is how Humphrey's responds to it's clientele, I won't be going back anytime soon.
