I know some of you own a business. I was just wondering if any of you have any type of culinary training or if you learned how to cook on your own. I learned how to cook on my own, but I have always wanted to attend culinary school.
I went to a few classes here and there but mostly learned for myself. I have never cooked for a living though, I am more on the management side of things.
My mother and grandmother taught me how to cook. I don’t cook for a living; I am also more on the management side of things. I have always thought it would be interesting to be a chef.
I learned to cook from my father, he has been a chef most of his life and I have one sister that is a chef. She learned to cook from our father and landed a job at an awsome coutry club, but she has to work 15 hour days!
Well all of my education came from school in the business that I am in. As an accountant you can not just come by the skills naturally and must go to college. I hope to one day use the knowledge that I have to become a part owner with the guy that I am working for.
I have learned everything that I know from my grandparents that have been running a deli for 37 years now. I hope that someday when they are ready to retire that they will give me the option to take over since my mother and aunts are not interested in the business at all.
