I am a nut about my salads and was just wondering where makes the best salad in LA? I often travel there on business or just have a layover at the airport and I always seem to be hungry for a good salad and never know where to go.
I've just posted on the worst salad that I've had in LA - Wolfgang Puck. The best was definitely at the Hyatt West Hollywood. As I've ealready posted on both of these I will explain the difference.
The Hyatt had nice, fresh salad with good quality additional ingredients. Dressing was optional and didn't overwhelm the salad.
The Puck one appeared pre-prepared, especially as the dressing appeared not to be optional. It also took forever (strange as I was the only customer). The dressing not only over-whelmed but ruined the salad.
The other time that I've hated a salad was in Pleasanton, North CA. It was in the Pleasanton Hotel and was wrecked by half a pint of balsamic vinegar (what a waste).
Does everyone in LA eat salad,lol, Im guessing to be in LA LA land you have to eat healthy and be fit to look good, why are all the good looking people in LA? guess i should visit sometime.Haha
I would not fit in LA I guess because I am not going to touch a healthy salad with a ten foot pole. In order for me to eat a salad there has to be a bit of Thousand Island dressing on it.
You don't have to be from Los Angeles or be a health freak to love salad and there are good salad places everywhere...California Chicken Cafe is good and so is California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) some of the best salads I've ever had...the chinese chicken is amazing & the thai chicken crunch is delicious!!
The best salads in LA are at a place called Salads Galore. Huge selection with top quality. They are in Encino at the corner of Ventura & Balboa. You will thank me.
