I love sushi.  There's probably a million sushi joints now in Los Angeles.  Where can I find the best sushi around?

So far, my favorite fusion (non-authentic) sushi restaurant is California Roll Factory in West LA and for traditional sushi, Sushi Go 55 in Little Tokyo.

What's your favorite sushi restaurant/bar... and most importantly what should I order?

At California Roll Factory, I normally get Greg's Roll (Salmon + misc fish + special hot sauce), Chenzo (Shrimp tempura, avocado, crab, tempura crumb, eel sauce), and Picasso (Crab, shrimp, avocado, smelt egg, soybean paper, eel sauce).

Try Sushi Gen next time you're in Little Tokyo.

I can't stand the smell. It's even in some Walmarts now.

Never got around to Sushi in LA. However, my most worrying experience with sushi was my first when I tried to eat the blob of guacamole that they'd given to  me - I really like guacamole.

That's funny. It's not guacamole. I always hear people mistakening it for guacamole. Wasabi rocks!

If you want the best sushi around try Kiriko it is located at 11301 W. Olympic Blvd. I have friends that travel to LA every year and they make it a point to hit this sushi bar and we are from PA so there must be something to it.

Too funny about the Wasabi, I have seen so many people do that! As for your question about the best sushi I would try Asanebo on Ventura. It is great and they have awsome prices.

I know that it must have been over seven years ago that this happened to me but the memory never fades. I know the time because I was in Cambridge in February 1999 and got Sushi with some colleagues at lunchtime, one of whom had never had it previously. Before I could say "Don't eat the green stuff" he'd thrown it into his mouth whole and was choking in a corner. Don't think he's had sushi since.

It happens to the best of us.

Rock and roll sushi (Sushi Dans) Is good, Not sure of the streets, And so is Ahi sushi.
Dans is cheaper, and good food, and Ahi is a bit more, but a cool place.

I liked Katsuya in Studio City.. but you need reservations cuz it gets crowded and its a bit pricey.
