The post about slim fast got me thinking about dieting and the programs that are out there. Has anyone here tried the nutri system program where they send you all of your foods? I have some weight to drop and this just looks like a great idea. I am wondering how the food tastes? Being that it is $300.00 a month I don't want to just give it a try to find that I hate it.

$300 a month for a months supply of food sounds cheap. I spend more than that a week on groceries and take out. Is this for 3 meals a day?

Yeah the price isn't that bad but I just don't want to get it and find out that I hate it and waste the money. This includes 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks a day. I think that I might just give it a try but I am still not sure!

I haven't tried it but I know a few people that have done great with it and they say that the food is great. I think that I might order it this week and give it a try myself. Did you see that they are now offering a men's version of the diet?

I just wanted to chime in here and say that this system is great! I have been using it for the past 3 months and so far I have lost 24lbs and it was pretty easy. I really do not like exercise but with any plan you will need to do it to reap the rewards.

Hi! I'm on NutraSystem right now - 1 month into it, and I've lost 8 lbs, which is average I'm told. The food is actually pretty yummy. The good thing about the program is, if you are REALLY serious and commit you can actually save money! I got 10% off the $300 food bill because I signed up for automatic shipments. After two shipments you get 15% off! They send you an e-mail message when it is time to ship your next month's food and you can change the items you ordered initially - making sure you order the food you really love from the program. I haven't wanted for anything - even their desserts are good!

Hi! I have been on the NutriSystem diet for a little less than a month now and have lost a total of 19 pounds so far. I can't exercise, because I have emphysema. I have been very happy with the foods except the breakfasts and the snacks. I mailed them back for a refund. I like the fact that I can order ala carte choosiing the foods that I like best for lunch and dinner. I also like the fact that there's no preparation required. Mostly you just "heat 'em up and eat 'em up." I have 50 more pounds to lose. I highly recommend NutriSystem.

I did it last year until I got pregnant. It worked great. After about 3 months the food started getting a little tiresome but there's ways you can spice things up. The food itself was pretty good but I'm so picky, I only like about 1/2 of the offered menu. The good thing is that you can pick what you want (except the free week of food, they send you "favorites" for that week) so you're not spending money on food you won't eat.
Regarding the $300/month, it's cheaper than my normal day so it's only expensive if you're not commited. Part of the diet is adding veggie, fruit and dairy servings (carb serving for men) so it actually averages about $12-$14 a day. Still not bad...and worth it when you can fit into your "skinny clothes" again!

Just a little warning on Nutrisystem......It may sound really good, but once you get the food, it's actually not very good at all. I had done Jenny Craig and lost 35 pounds. I took a break and decided I wanted to lose a little more weight so I tried Nutrisystem thinking it would be easy just having the food delivered and not having to attend any meetings. I was so wrong. The food is disgusting. I do not recommend the program. I still have over half of the food in my house and have no idea what to do with it.

I have heard from more than one source that the nutri system food is almost inedible, just disgusting and lots of people just have it left hanging around their homes. Ouch, all that money down the drain.

I tried nutri system and personally hated it. for breakfast it was like either a bar which was nasty (hard enuff u can throw it at a door and it would prolly go thru it) or powder eggs.. u no the kind where u add hot water too. nasty i tell you. Their lunch was even worst. i have a very good sense of smell and i new sumthang was funky cuz i smelled fish ... and i was eating pasta. i checked out all the ingredients for their lunches... and there it was ... sardines and other fish ingredients. their dinners arent as bad but no way i would pay 5 bucks for those frozen foods. so i returned all my foods and got my full refund minus the shipping that it cost to send all that crap back. advice... try weight watchers i was able to lose weight with them.
