Esther's Taco House has a young dude feel.... Beer, Beer and Beer. The food is OK, I'm sorry but nothing special. It lacks any imaganation. The food seems to be secondary to beer sales. The reason I stopped going to Esthers is the cleanliness of the place. The carpet looks very greasy and dirty... I did not feel good taking my wife and kids there. Just too gross for mediocre food. The staff is friendly enough but they need to work on the appearence of the place.

Worlds Best Chile Relleno
I have searched all over the U.S. to find a better "CR" than Esther's. I have stopped. I now drived 60+ miles to enjoy the best. I grew up in Esther's in Downey, now moved to Placentia. I will follow her (spirit) to the ends of the earth. Sometimes I even have the carnitas or Chile Verde! A fun family place to eat!

Great Place
We eat at Esther's about once a week and it is always great. The prices are exceptional, the food even better and the beer is ICE cold. Salsa is fresh made everyday (I know because you can see them making it). Service could be better during the rush times but the food is always fresh, hot and delicious. The place is no pretty no frills but you definately get your money worth, (dinner for two including a pitcher of beer for under $20!) You just can't beat this place. The only drawback is they are closed on Sundays, other than that you can't go wrong here.

A deep-fried fantasy. A culinary dream come true. In my lifelong quest for the perfect food, my Mecca, or X marks the spot on the treasure map, would be Esther's Taco House. Chicken and beef tacos to die for, or rather live for, and a Chile Relleno unmatched anywhere. May Esther's recipe live long and prosper!
