Carnitas are excellent, Bean cheese rice burrito is awesome....everything is so goooood and cheap too. I luv it.

They actually do sell alcohol at El Ranchito...a big selection of beer is pretty much what they have. And they certainly do have the best food in Poway...rivaling the best sit down Mexican restaurant El Comal.

Crowded But Worth the Wait
El Ranchito is probably Poway's most popular Mexican restaurant. It is not uncommon for the line to stretch out the door during then height of the lunch and dinner rush.

After buying out the shop next door and tearing down the wall, there are plenty of tables, but carry out is quite popular. Watching workers from the neighboring businesses come in with 10 or 15 orders is not uncommon.

The food is excellent. My favorite is the carnitas, perhaps the best I've ever had. Pollo Asada is also quite delicious. Half of the patrons seem to buy combination dishes, but I like to get the end items as the tacos, burritos, etc. are far better than the side dishes.

The restaurant also sells a nice selection of Mexican breads and tortillas.

El Ranchito is not only Poway's best Mexican restaurant, it is one of the best in San Diego County
