Do you mole?
Serving limey ceviches and chunky guacamoles so fresh you'll wonder what it has been you've been eating your whole life, Dona Tomas doesn't disappoint. Their margaritas are strong and not overly sweet, and their mole is chocolately and smokey, just perfect. The recycled tile outdoor patio is the perfect place to pass a hot summer night, and is preferable to the indoors where the wooden chairs can be unkind to lightly padded bottoms. However, no real complaints from this reviewer. In the Bay Area where Mexican food has been inexplicably reduced to taquerias and Chevy's, it is a real treat to sit down to a Mexican meal that is authentically prepared and thoughtfully presented.
