Old Style Gem
Dino's is an old style Italian gem of a restaurant that remains unaffected and indifferent to the passing hurly-burly of today's trendiness. The dim interior boasting old red leather banquettes, chianti bottles in the shape of sword-wielding knights and breadsticks in a waterglass is truly of a classy age long past. The time travelling experience continues unabated when regarding the service, impeccable and attentive to every last need, yet friendly, well matching the convivial din about the restaurant of locals well knowing a good thing. And yes, as a forest of tines threatens me for prolixity, the food! Very much old style, unpretentious heavy red sauces and ample portions of eggplant parmesan, canneloni, or a pasta in butter and parsley, a simple and sublime delight. Most entrees are preceeded to the table by an advance guard of minestrone, salad and bread and butter which quickly subdue the diner into the dimensions of a swoon. With a swig of the ambiance and chianti, you wish this now were eternal.

Ave Dino's!
For over 50 years Dino's Italian Inn has been quietly and successfully engaging the divine that one can but time after time spear on the point of a fork's tine after making a visit at this unsung Pasadena gem. The ambiance, the service, the richness of the sauces is of a bygone age that has all but vanished and can scarcely be appreciated today, although at Dino's, I can state, it continues unabated. The mushrooms mated seamlessly with butter and marsala, the manicotti swaddled in light crepe, the creamy dressing on the salad, the waiters attentive to every last detail, above all Gene, a server whose quiet dignity and years of experience one can but respect and who will not suffer a patron's hand pouring their own chianti from the table carafe, the laughter and convivilaity contagious here reflected off the wine in glass all add up to a class act. An experience to be reveled in, again and again. Ave, Dino's!
