darien doughnut is not the same since phil sold the place. there is something missing [phil himself] the shop lost its energy.The service is very slow,the line takes forever. I'm sure the new owner is tired of hearing about all the great things phil always did but the fact is phil was that shop. I'm sorry he sold. That's not to say that Bill is not a nice person.The doughnut inn was the doughnut shop bar none , now it's just another place to get coffee and boring at that .I long for chop chop lets get moving

A Darien Institution
The newly renovated Doughnut Inn reflects the heart and soul of Darien. It's owner, Phil S., is always finding ways to give back the community by such things as supporting school groups or donating a day's profits to a family that lost a husband and father last year. The doughnuts and muffins are baked fresh on the premises and the coffee is the best in town. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This is the place to be on any given morning in Darien. Dave
