Change it to a Popeye's
We have eaten at Copelands around the country and we were distressed at the lack of service, poor food quality and overall experience at the Copelands in Alpharetta Ga. We were seated immediatly, (first red flag) on a Saturday evening, then we waited after our drink order was taken 15 minutes before 2 glasses of wine were brought over and then we waited again 5-10 minutes till our appetizer was served. Then we had to stop our waitress and ask for some plates and some water, this was not even offered, then while in the middle of our appetizer our main entrees were served, mine then my wifes. While my stuffed shrimp were deep-fried beyond reconition, my wife chicken cordeon blue was overfried and on a bed of rice instead of the typical pasta, when we inquired about this our waitress said that we had requested it that way, funny I dont remember this conversation and I never left the table. We never saw our waitress again until we asked for our checks while she was asking if we would like anything else, we said NO, and recieved our checks, I gave the waitress our cash and she took it off, then went and took another parties drink order that had just been seated, then walked up to the bar and brought them their drinks meanwhile we waited and waited for our change. Finally I called another waiter and asked to speak with the manager, the manager arrived and listen, like he has heard this story before, but he did offer to comp our meal for 80% of the bill, this was fine as long as I dont have to come back to this Copelands and eat again, I will return to the one on Barrett Parkway, which we have had termendous service at everytime. I guess if we have to eat over here again Pappaduex is the next exit down across from Home Depot Expo.

I AM ADDICTED TO THE SHRIMP AND TASSO PASTA! MY HUSBAND IS VERY PICKY AND HE IS CRAZY ABOUT THE CATFISH PLATTER. LOVE THE JAZZY WINGS TOO. THE SERVICE IS EXCEPTIONAL AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS PERFECT FOR ANY OCCASION. DON'T MIND IF I HAVE A CRASH AND BURN EITHER.

My Kinda Restaurant
My family & I are regulars at Copelands. I haven't had any complaints about the dishes I've had, and I've been eating there for 8 years. I like when they get creative & make those once in a lifetime dishes like a bed of sauteed spinach w/fried cream cheese, topped with a creamy sauce & fried crawfish. It sounds weird, but tastes great! I recommend the place to anyone!!

My response to
I just wanted to respond to someones "not too great" comment. The opposite happened to me. I didnt have much time, so I ordered a simple hamburger because I figured it would be a quick to order & quick to eat food. Well the food came quickly but it was not so quick to eat because the burger was "Huge". I think that you should always put your complaint in with the manager on duty at the location you ate at before you assume and advertise on the net to others that this is what the company has to offer. Everyone is an individual, and I learned you can have a bad experience even in the best of places with great reputations.

Job Well Done
I enjoy going to Copelands with family and friends. I've never been disappointed or dissatisfied with my food selections. Additionally, faithful customers get great perks, i.e. free gumbo coupons via email, free champagne on birthdays... It's a great place to dine.

No Complaints
My sister and I took my parents out to eat at Copelands after I graduated from grad school earlier this year. My entire family had a WONDERFUL time! My parents were very impressed and later this year took a trip to "NAWLNS". The food and service was very impressive to them. This month, some of my former classmates will meet there for lunch and to catch-up!

Not too great.
I recently visited the Copelands in my town (Huntsville, Alabama) after hearing rave reviews about it. I was, unfortunately, unimpressed with the restaurant. It was a Saturday, late afternoon, so the crowd was not too heavy. SERVICE: After getting a seat, the waiter thought chatting with friends was more imprtant than service to customers, so 15 minutes later we got our drink orders. My friend ordered steak and I ordered seafood stuffed catfish. Although the food arrived hot, we both were not impressed with the presentation. His steak looked no larger than a hamburger pattie on a white plate... and that was all that it was. No garnishes, nothing. He had to order a salad separately, totalling $20.00 for just that. My catfish dinner was much worse. I was amazed that the fish was literally swimming in oil... and that was all I could taste with each bite. Burnt skin also helped to add flavor and texture to the meal. I got sick later that evening from this dinner. Overall, the restaurant ambience was remarkable... ashame the food and service did not live up to the reputation. Perhaps other menu items would have been better.

New Orleans dining in an upscale atmosphere
Copeland's has become one of my most favorite restaurants. The atmosphere and decor is much nicer than many cajun "just off the docks" looking places (you know, the ones that serve you with buckets). I'm picky about ingredients (there are certain things I won't eat), and Copeland's large seafood menu that features a lot of items that leave out pork-based ingredients gives me plenty to choose from. The wait staff is always courteous, efficient, and well-dressed. I've never had a meal or experience there that disappointed me.
