A well kept secret!
I am one of the Managers at Connections Cafe, and I feel that not enough people know about our establishment. We offer an incredible service to the community by training the Youth how to work and act in the job force. We provide the youth with a Job-Ready program. During the program they attend classes on how to write a resume, make a cover letter, how to have a great interview. We teach them how to respond to authority in a positive manner, how to deal with work-related problems, and how to increase their listening skills. In general we are training them to be hirable in today’s work force. In teaching this, they work in our cybercafé where we offer a place for the community to come, relax, and enjoy a cup of coffee. They can bring their laptop and even get some office work done in a non-office type atmosphere. I would love to see our cafe become one of the hot spots in Lancaster, not only to help out the Boys and Girls club, but to help the Youth in the cafe get a real feel for a busy cybercafé.
