Agate Deli Pass / All you can eat Buffett
Agate Deli is the worst place to eat in the Casino by far. The food is terrible and standing in line to get your order in takes all night (very slow). I'd rather starve until I get home. The buffet is a hit and miss. Seafood night is alright only because of its affordable price ($18.95). Other than that, make sure you eat before you get to the casino.

Fun
I went to Clear Water Casino buffet and it had the best bbq chicken I ever had (and I am a culinary student). The other food was not bad as well.

We Love the Buffet
Stopping by for dinner many nights a week I can't think of anything but great things to say. The selection of food, deserts and beverages is awsome. Unlike many buffets the food is almost alway warm to Hot. The service is beyond expectations. When it is extremely busy that is our assurance that this is a well run restruant and casino.
Recommended: My favorite is Shrimp Stir Fry on Tuesdays. Soft ice cream reminds me of the old days when it was the real stuff.

No Bargain
We stopped by and ate dinner on Wednesday, December 10, 2003. The buffet is housed in a separate part of the casino and features smoking and nonsmoking dining areas. Getting there early at around 3:30 in the afternoon, we wandered into the empty dining room and observed basically what was left over from lunch. None of the salad items had been cleared and the desserts and fruits were still out in their serving bins. Promptly at 4:30, we paid for our meals and started to graze the entrees. In casual conversation with one of the line supervisors, we were told that only some of the salads were actually prepared there, and that the potato salad in particular had been purchased off-site. The salads, which we had observed sitting there, many obviously held over from lunch, seemed okay, but the greens appeared a little dried up and wilted. The hot entrees consisted of: mashed, unskinned red potatoes; banana cornbread; brown gravy; pork chops with apple chutney; chicken breast with cream sauce and mushrooms; tortellini with spinach; and steamed mixed vegetables. The steamed mixed vegetables were--well, they were steamed mixed vegetables; what can you say about such a mundane dish? The banana-flavored corn bread was certainly different. We had never seen such a dish before. It was brown in appearance, like a cake, and crumbled when you attempted to obtain a portion. In taste, it was slightly sweet and tasted almost exactly like crumbly banana nut bread. The chicken breasts were dry and rather tough, having basically been overcooked, although the cream sauce with mushrooms helped somewhat. The pork chops with apple chutney turned out to be nothing more than overcooked pork loin chops topped with very cooked slices of spiced apple. They had apparently been fried or grilled, then placed in a serving pan and topped with the cooked spiced apple slices. The cooked apple slices were very good; the pork chops were a disaster, being so tough and dry as to be almost inedible. The tortellini were barely cooked and were al dente to the point where they were almost tough. The best dish was their mashed potatoes made with unpeeled red potatoes. The desserts suffered from overexposure. The pieces of cake had been out so long that their edges were dried and crunchy, adding a rather unique experience from the cake-eating standpoint. The fruits, consisting of melons and pineapple slices, obviously had zero attention from lunch time. The pineapple slices were brown and looked almost spoiled. We suspect that none of the desserts had been made in-house. It became obvious that the kitchen staff only cared about two days, Friday and Saturday, when there would be hundreds of people filling up the dining room for their seafood buffets. For the other days when there would be a pathetic few, such as on the Wednesday we were there, they obviously did not lavish much attention on their food. One server told me, "the food is priced under cost, you know." I assume that he meant that it was a great bargain. Well, nothing is a bargain no matter how cheap if it is poorly done or executed. What can you say when a buffet's best dish is their mashed potatoes! Except for Friday and Saturday dinners featuring lots of seafood, there just have to be better places to eat.

Disappointed customer
1. Entertainment still crowded. Band starts at 9:00pm, you must get there at 8:00 to get a decent seat. Due to this nature, customers steal your seat after going to dance floor leading to arguements and situations you do not want to deal with. 2. Complimentary peanuts/chips not given to the customer after numerous promises of delivery. 3. Mixed drink are pre-mixed. I had the Long Island Iced tea. First time had to return it back since it tasted like it had no alcohol, second time was weak and third time I just got tired of the situation and ordered a beer. Whatever is premixed, is not what you think you're getting. Plus, you cannot see what they are putting into the drinks, so they are probably cutting corners on the alcohol content. 4. Mid Buffet - A joke to say the least. Dried up roasted beef and ham vice eggs/bacon/hash browns. No sliced bread to make a sandwich, just a roll and some mayo. Soup was not labeled, and the server did not know what kind of soup it was. Soup was salty! Paper plates and plastic utensils..how professional! Asked for another peice of dessert and was told there was no more (after 5 minutes of the buffet opening). 5. No salt/pepper shakers on table, I had to get my own form the front desk. 6. No extra black jack tables, just extra slot machines. The worst excuse for a casino.
Recommended: eggs/bacon/sausage/hash brown/toast for midnight buffet

BAD FOOD
The food was absolutely foul. When the moths became prevalent last summer, I found actual moths in the food. Many of my friends got sick from the Agate Pass Cafe.
