Where Indians Go to Eat
It's been said that to judge the quality of an ethnic restaurant - have a peek at those who dine there. The more representation from that ethnicity - the higher the authencity of the food. Clay Oven is one such restaurant for Indian Food. The first word that comes to mind is FRESH - all of the items are freshly prepared - a concept that is not espoused by all establishments. I lived away from New Jersey for a while - and always returned back to dine here when I came home. Now I'm back for good...and I can't wait to enjoy this place on a more regular basis. The parking is a bit tough...but it's worth the trouble you may have to go through! Enjoy... again and again!

Unassuming Gem
If you're looking for elegant surroundings and fine service, don't go here. But if you're looking for amazingly fresh and delightful Indian cooking, this may be the place for you. Located in a storefront in a stripmall on Route 130, this new Indian Restaurant is primarily a take-out restaurant, but there are about a dozen tables for those choosing to eat in. Painted in primary colors, the restaurant is spotlessly clean, with the chef working behind a large window with an impressive array of spices at his disposal. Order at the counter, and your dinner will be brought to your table on paper dinnerware with plastic cutlery. As for the food, this is some of the best Indian food I've had outside of India. Fresh and poignant flavors and delicate use of spices set this restaurant apart. The flavor of each dish shines through. Even the Naan comes to you piping-hot, fresh from the Tandoori, simultaniously crisp and velvety. The Baingan Bhartha (Eggplant Sauté) is a standout - freshly prepared, the taste of each ingredient comes through, perfectly complemented by the delicate spices. We will have to return here often in order to try the many dishes on the menu.
