Chris & Pitt's....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

food at chris in pits is good, I like the jumbo burgers, however sum of the servers, do have addtude's; after i tell them please send my rings, with my dinner, they send it with the salid anyways! Most of the servers, are great but a few are down right rude! lucky i have been going to chris an pitts, for 35 years and seen them come and go. So i just hope, I don't get them once more and give a good tip, to the good servers, only a doller to the rude ones! (OR LESS!)

8-29-2007, we had dinner at the Downey location, I have to say the food is just great put server 1 had an additude, she walked up to our table and said " want do you want to drink" no hello, no how are you today, no Hello my name is so & so , no greeting of anykind, after she took my wife's drink & my grandson's she looked and me and I asked her if she was having a bad day, she said no I just came on. Will she walked away shaking her head and kept that additude our entire stay. As a plant mamanger of a facility I have never seen so much goofing off in that place with most of the employees. If they would put some of that goofing off energy into the paying customers that come in to dine which keeps them a job maybe business would be better. The only perso the greeted us with a smile was the hostess, a was young hispanic girl.

My husband and I love the food especially the BBQ baby back ribs, chili and large top sirloin steak. However the hostess tall white older lady is always in a bad mood and if she is not it sure seems like it. Maybe they should put someone a little more sociable because that lady kinda kills the mood when you walk in. Other than that and the occasional long waitting we love it!

The beef barley soup is to die for...the BBQ baby back ribs need to be cooked more...the chicken fried steak,
meatloaf, shrimp dinner and believe it or not the spaghetti are out of this world. They do have a problem though
with a waitress who is always in a bad mood and really puts a damper on the whole dining in experience..So
I'd advise just ordering from the take out and enjoy.............

Our family has eaten at Chris & Pitts all my life! Before this one opened, we went to the one that used to be over on Paramount complete with sawdust on the floor and jukebox directories at each table! What fun. The food is all great.
Recommended: Tender juicy steaks. Suculant baby-back ribs. BBQ sandwiches loaded with meat and sauce

How about a Chris&Pitts In Ventura!
I really think that there should be a Chris&Pitts in ventura,californa or some where near by. You guys took out the one near L.A. And now its going to be a Walgreens. I take my family and friends there every time I get. When I would go down in that area for busness I would stop by and get food and bring it back to the guys that work for me. I really think that you should think about a Chris&Pitts in or near ventura. You guys would be bringing in alot of money and happy customers.

Love the Place, But...
I love Chris'n'Pitts Restaurants, but for the past two years, I have been consistently disappointed in one of their dishes: the Beef Barbecue Ribs. At the Downey restaurant, they arrive at my table, lukewarm and drenched with their bottled barbecue sauce. Instead of the meat practically falling off of the bone, it usually turns out to be chewy and dry. Initially, I thought that maybe I picked the wrong weekday to order ribs, so I made a concerted effort to arrive when the place was consistently busy and the meal turnover was exceptionally high--thereby insuring that my order of Beef Barbecue Ribs would be freshly made. Despite my Friday night and Sunday night experiments, the Beef Barbecue Ribs were still a hit and miss. However, you do get good value for your money here, so now I just stick to their other consistently well-made dishes like their steaks and breaded pork chops dinners.
Recommended: Rib Eye Steak, Breaded Pork Chops w/Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Prime Rib

Mmmm -- BBQ!
Chris' & Pitts restaurant in Downey is truly a treat. A place you can go with your family and friends for a great bbq style meal. The steak is always tender and juicy, the ribs are cooked to perfection -- I've never had a bad Chris' & Pitts meal. Be sure to wear your comfy clothes -- you'll want to finish every bite. This is NOT one of those quiet restaurants. Crying kids are welcome.
