Probably the best dining experience I have had in a long time.....and I will compare an apple to an orange here-"Masa's", Boulevard, Gary Denko....etc. To see young folks dressed in their element be so helpful, gracious, and caring was refreshing. For all of the pretentiousness that Lafayette can dish, this little slice of culinary heaven cuts right through with great freindly service and wonderful food! Great job! I will be back to experience those elements I did not have time for....the market, breakfast, "bar"....

I agree with the above comment.....
Chow has definitely gone downhill since opening.....they changed management and I don't think they get it. Besides they charge ten bucks for a burger. :( The market is awesome though, lots of organic produce, at good prices, mostly local, way better than Diablo Foods ($$$).

Downhill
Ate there a lot since opening - quality of food has deteriorated dramatically. Staff good, kid friendly, but the food is just not worth it anymore!

Two Hits, Two Misses.
Yesterdays lunch was less than stellar. How can you serve your "sandwich for tuesday" with the chicken skin still on it and in a half baked fashion, ugh. On the other hand the won tons were very good. The other bad was a wait but I can live with that. The good, you can sit outside with your dog. All in all, I think I will be trying other restuarants for a while.

Chow for Breakfast Baby!!!
I have so many favorites and eat there way too often, but I'm addicted! Don't miss breakfast on weekends. For lunch The Cobb Salad is fresh, the tarragon dressing is to die for, the pies. Everything is fresh, the people are eclectic and mostly aiming to please.

Love Chow!
The food is wonderfull here. The only problem I ran into was trying to select a dish from the very eclectic menu. The service was wonderfull as well. Our waitress was friendly, helpful, attentive and recommended great dishes according to each persons different taste. She was impressively knowledgable about the menu and could go into great detail about flavors quanities and anything else we needed. This restaurant has something for everyone! Great for special occasions although not a lot of privacy from a romantic point of view.

chow rules
I love the food at chow. All of the food is sustainable foods ( which means mostly organic and natural foods.) I haven't tasted a bad meal. They have wonderful desserts and sweets as well. They change the menu with every season, so that they only have the best food that is in season. They also have a cute little market attached to the restaurant with oragnic fruits, vegies and meats. There's nothing like it.
Recommended: Pork chops , Hamburger, and gingercake dessert.

Great place
Love the food! Busy and fun atmosphere. Stay away from the 2 person table near the side door or you will be hit with cold blasts of wind while you dine.

great food in a fun atmosphere
The restaurant is constantly full, but always moving. You may have to wait for a table, but it won't take long, and it will be worth the wait. The menu is small, but it covers just about everything that you could have a taste for. The service staff is friendly and efficient, and the food is wonderful.
