Cheery chain
This outpost of the popular "fresh Mex" chain, attached to popular Stonestown Galleria, offers cheerful service, an upbeat atmosphere, and dependably edible Mexican/Southwestern standards such as enchiladas, tamales, tacos, and fajitas. Strongly on the plus side are crisp chips, the choice of bean sides, and affordable assemble-it-yourself combos (two main courses plus sides for $8.99; three for $9.99). Chicken fillings are generous with white meat. Sauces aren't subtle: the "chili" sauce especially has the strong tang of superblast Doritos. Externally applied sauces are essential to flavors, as the meat fillings generally are not cooked in seasonings. That said, Chevy's remains dependable, genuinely fresh, and relaxing. Service is more competent and attentive than in many a pricier restaurant, and the iced tea is real.
