I have been going to Chester's since I was just a little boy. I absolutely love the food there. The only problem I have is that I loved the food so much, I can not tolerate any other Chinese food restaurant. I moved to Arizona about 5 years ago, but I make it a habit to go back to Camarillo to visit family. And every single time I am there, I have to stop by Chester's for lunch of dinner.

My order is somewhat unique, as I special order a chicken and water chestnut meal not from the menu. The egg flower soup is also one of my favorites. I sometimes order paper-wrapped chicken and pork fried rice as well. The service is so good, that even after all this time, some of the waiters still remember my special order.

The decor is always top notch, and alot of the floral and artistic plant arrangements are hand made by the wonderful owner of the place. The service is always friendly, I have never yet had a bad experience there. Even on busy days, they still find a way to get us drinks when we run out. Would I recommend Chester's to friends? Of course, I plan to take my girlfriend there when we go back to California. I have brought many friends there when I lived out in Camarillo. Every single one of them enjoyed their experience as much as I have. I don't give praise to many places like I do this, but this is one place well deserving of it.
Recommended: Anything, its all authentic and fresh.

Some Favorites
Enjoy the Crispy shrimp with walnuts and the sauteed string beans with shredded pork....a take out we look forward to. Owners are nice. Floral arrangements by the owner are very interesting.

Why?
This place came highly recommended but I found it to be not much to my liking. The Wonton soup was barely OK (almost tasted like dish soap). The Egg Roll was OK. The Paper Wrapped Chicken was marginal. The BBQ Pork Fried Rice was decent but not exceptional. AND, the Chicken with Orange Flavor was actually poor - notice it says "with Orange Flavor" and not "with Orange."

Chester the Great!!
We almost didn't go in because of the cheap lookin "strip mall" storefront. I'm glad we did. The decor was really nice. The owners do take personal initiative as noted in another review. Food was pretty good (better than avg) and very fresh. Prices were on par with other asian food restaurants. We were surprised and will return. We went on a Friday night around 6pm. Still room. Half hour later, it was packed.

A Favorite With Locals
This lovely restaurant is a long established destination for locals. Keith and Cindy host and treat their customers as honored guests. The decor features some of Keith's own floral arrangements. The food is always hot, fresh, pleantiful and delicious. They aim to please and will alter dishes to suit. They also are always prepared to seat large family groups or office parties. Call ahead if you plan to visit during peak hours. We have been going there for over 25 years.
Recommended: Egg Foo Young, War Won Ton Soup, Asia Special Chow Mein with pan fried noodle, spare ribs

Best Chinese
This is easily the best Chinese restaurant in Camarillo. Excellent food, low prices and excellent service. The owners take a personal interest.
