Bad Experience
Casper's hot dogs have been my favorite hot dogs. They were the only ones I would buy. I was very dissapointed in my last purchase. The hotdog casing was unchewable totally; it was like plastic and I couldn't even tear the casing by hand. Please do better quality control, Casper's. [Originally submitted: 24 Jul 2003]

Casper's Hot Dogs
At the moment I am in exile from the East Bay. However, one thing that I always indulge in when I return to the very center of the universe (aka tghe Bay Area) is a pilgrimage to Casper's Hot Dogs. There are none better. If you buy them at Costco, that is a good thing. Just remember to steam them and they will be just like they should be...none better!

Pop Goes the Hot Dog
I grew up in Hayward, California and I have to say I was very fortunate to live near Casper's. I was also fortunate that my dad loved Casper's as much as we kids did, because we always got to there and eat. I can remember the pop or snap the hotdog made every bite. I live in anchorage Alaska now for many years and therefore no more Casper's but I was walking through Costco, and lo and behold I could not believe my eyes when I saw their well-known logo on a demo. Now I have Casper's coming out of my ears and love every moment of it. I am very thankful for the Spars Sausage Company who makes Casper's for working with Costco to bring them to us so far away from the Bay Area. If you are lucky enough to go to an actual Casper's hotdog shop...then eat one for me too!

For the last 35 years my husband and I have been going to Layman's Tax Service in Richmond and after we are done there we go to Casper's for our annual Hot Dog "Pig Out". Last year we were introduced to a "hot" flavored hot dog and it was to die for. Also I buy my Casper's at Costco in Sacramento. I am not able to buy the hot ones - too bad; they are great. Originating from Germany I am somewhat of a hot dog expert - but Casper's takes the prize: great skin texture, juice and tasty. Keep them coming. Over the years we have introduced our children and grandchildren to your establishment and they all love it.

This is by far the best hot dog in the entire U.S. Whenever I can get there, I eat at least 3 hot dogs.
