Avanti specializes in gourmet pizzas prepared in an imported oak-wood fired Italian oven. They do a good job of it, too: they've been voted Best Gourmet Pizza by readers of the Pasadena Weekly at least six times.
They've got a large assortment of gourmet pizzas with wacky toppings from roasted garlic to pesto to seafood to glazed apples.
They also serve traditional pizza, pasta, and calzones.

Amazing italian food (namely pizza)
Great food. The pizza was perfectly cooked and the waitress was really hot. She was really nice too. Anyway, great pizza. Recommended highly.

Food
I recently ate at Avanti Cafe and was very disappointed. I had the chicken Caesar salad. Not only was it awful, but it gave me a stomach ache. How difficult could it be to make a good Caesar salad? The service was also bad. You can bet I won't be eating there again. As for pizza, Domenico's on Washington is fabulous!

Avanti has a nice atmosphere and friendly service, but the real reason to go here is their gourmet pizza.

Their gourmet pizzas only come in small and medium sizes, but they're very good. Highly recommended are the roasted garlic pizza ($7.95 small, $12.95 medium) and the 'from the garden' pizza ($7.95 small, $12.95 medium).

Avanti's garlic rolls are also excellent - soft, warm knots of bread with a delicious garlic sauce.
